Sea Harvest Group offers its employees a unique opportunity to join a leading, responsible, diversified and global fishing and food business. We are a dynamic and established organisation with a track record extending beyond 60-years and a marketing footprint in about 30 countries around the world. Since listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in 2017, we have acquired businesses in South Africa and Australia, expanded our product offering to include pelagic and farmed fish, aquafeed and dairy, and increased our revenue by more than R5-billion.

Working at Sea Harvest provides our employees with a broad range of employment and development opportunities across the company, both in South Africa and internationally. We are driven by and committed to our goal of supporting the continued growth and development of Sea Harvest’s most valuable resource, its people. We strive to enhance the current and future organisational effectiveness of the organisation by augmenting employees’ abilities to maximize performance, ultimately contributing to our mission of positively impacting the communities and stakeholders we serve.

WE LEAD

Whether it be how we steward our business, how we engage with our various stakeholders, or how we manage our impact on the environment, we are always striving to achieve our vision of being a leading organisation on a world stage. Some of our accolades include our CEO being entrusted with the Chairmanship of the largest sector body, the South African Deep-Sea Trawl Industry Association (SADSTIA), as well as of the largest whitefish conference globally, the Groundfish Forum, whose headquarters are located in Canada; and awards for how we market our primary product, Cape Hake. By joining Sea Harvest, our employees, therefore, join an organisation committed to high performance and excellence in all we do. WE GROW

Our business strategy since listing on the JSE has been focused on organic and acquisitive growth. As we grow, our endeavour is to grow the positive impact we are able to have on our employees, the local communities in which we operate, and society at large. Although we may encounter challenges along the way, we have demonstrated our resilience over the past 60+ years to always bounce back stronger. Our commitment is towards sustainable, long-term growth for the benefit of all our stakeholders. WE DEVELOP

As a global organisation that has grown from humble beginnings in the small rural community of Saldanha Bay on the Cape west coast, we value the opportunity to utilise our resources and skills to develop not only our employees, but also communities, the South African fishing industry, small businesses and the youth. Sea Harvest strives to fast-track the development of our high-potential, emerging leaders with our Management Development Programmes that are designed for all levels of management. We also focus on the acquisition, enhancement and development of young aspiring talent and we facilitate this through our structured graduate, learnership and apprenticeship programmes, as well as cadetships. Our Learning and Development Department, as well as the Sea Harvest Foundation, are at the forefront of finding new opportunities for partnership and collaboration to enhance the active role we have played in development. WE TRANSFORM

We believe that to grow means to transform – to make a marked change. Central to this is our objective of transforming the rural communities of Saldanha, St. Helena Bay, Gansbaai, Buffeljags, Kleinzee and Hermanus by securing jobs. However, there are many ways in which we actively support transformation. You can read more about this on our “Transformation Impact” section, click here.
